Claire & Jake, 3rd December 2021

Winter in Woodstock, and my penultimate wedding of 2021. I was excited for this one. Claire and Jake were having an intimate wedding ceremony in Woodstock with their closest family and friends and a meal afterwards. With all the scaremongering that was going on with the surge in coronavirus cases and the will we/won't we lock down concerns, they were adamant that they were going to get married no matter what. I admire them and love them for their approach as I am certain that this is what made their day so special.

I hadn't met the couple prior to their wedding day. Something I try and avoid as I like a couple to get to know me but circumstances this unavoidable. It didn't matter. I met Claire as she was walking down Woodstock high street in her wedding dress, looking absolutely beautiful and surrounded by her bridesmaids. She gave the biggest smile and I loved her! Jake was also lovely and I was touched by how much care he put in to making sure everything was just right.

Claire's bridesmaids had the most stunning blue dresses with eye catching sparkle on the top half. They all looked super. Their flowers, and the brides flowers were also beautiful - with the pine cones giving off a hint of sparkle as Claire moved the bouquet...

.....It was cold. And wet. And it wasn't supposed to be! The Town Hall had also placed their Christmas tree in the most awkward position but it was all a challenge which I love! Claire and Jake braved the cold and we managed to dodge the showers to go for a wander down Woodstock High Street. Blenheim Palace were kind enough to let us sneak in to the grounds to get some couples shots and it was just magical . The Christmas music could be heart in the background and the view out to the water was perfect....

...We then wandered back to the Marlborough Arms for some celebration drinks and I was able to float around and capture some shots whilst everyone celebrated. We even squeezed in some sparkler shots. All in all it was a really great day. Claire and Jake, it was a privilege to photograph your day and meet your handsome boys.
